Nintendo DS Games
Nowadays there are many computer games available for all ages of children - there are even computer games geared to toddlers. Before you think this is just 'one of the million', however, take a moment to read on. Go, Diego, Go safari rescue is one of the few Nintendo DS Games that a preschooler can actually learn to play on their own and it is fun and even somewhat educational for them. And, of course, being that it is based on a well loved DVD series, this makes it yet more attractive.
Like many other computer games, Go Diego Go Safari Rescue comes in a number of different platforms, including Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Ds, Windows PC and Playstation 2. The one for Windows is the cheapest, yet also the least interactive and therefore not as fun as the other options would be for your preschooler.
Just a little rundown of what this game is - and it is always good to get a rundown of what your child will be playing; there are a lot of creepy games out there that you might not want within a mile of your little one: Go Diego Go Safari rescue has two main character, Maia and Maiasaura (a duck billed dinosaur) that live somewhere near where Montana is. They are ultimately trying to get to a place called Egg Island; of course, there are different obstacles of all sorts along the way. This game has five different playing levels your child has to get through to get Maia and Maiasaura where they want to go.
Believe it or not, this is a game that is actually made easy and simple enough that a preschooler can learn to use, although of course you will probably have to help them get it set up, explain things to them (and depending on your child's nature, make sure they are handling the hardware correctly and are not going to break the playstation or other hardware through careless dropping or other normal preschool behaviour). But the good news is, they can learn - both how to treat whatever playstation variety they may be using, and to play the Wii version of this game without you standing over them, and it makes a fun activity for them to engage in while you are otherwise occupied.
Just a note, while there is a two player option, you may not be able to leave two preschoolers in the room alone playing this game. The way the game works, one will not be as fully occupied as the other and this can easily lead to an argument between them, or a bored child in search of something else to do.
Go Diego Go Safari rescue invites your child to travel with them back through time to help Maia the Maiasaura find her way home. In case any of you are wondering, a Maiasaura is a duck-billed dinosaur that lived somewhere near where Montana is. The ultimate destination is Egg Island and there are five levels to the game leading up to the final location. When it comes to Nintendo DS Games, Go Diego Go is a great choice for players of all ages.
