The following is about the PS3, one of many electronic gifts for 2009. With so many choices out there today, you've got to ask yourself whether or not a Playstation 3 is worth the money. Well is it?

To tell you the truth, I was really questioning how any game system could be worth $400, especially in the middle of a national depression. I was fortunate to be able to go halves with a friend, which only set me back $200 instead of $400. At first, I only got a few games, like Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Infamous. Slowly, but surely, my collection has increased, and for good reason. But after shelling out close to $60 per game, I still ask the question, is playstation 3 worth the money and is it great for electronic gifts for 2009? Well, the short answer for me is YES!

I quickly noticed how clear the game graphics were. The transitions were smooth, and at times, it was hard to know if I was watching a cut scene or whether it was time for me to control my game character. I am simply amazed! Sometimes I swear it feels like I'm smack dab in the middle of a movie.

Which brings me to another key feature of the Playstation 3: the Blu Ray capabilities! It's so nice to have an all-in-one machine like the playstation 3. Is the Playstation 3 worth the money? You bet it is!

If you can't afford it yet, don't worry. It will eventually decrease in price. Or you can always go halves with a trusted friend like I did. You won't be disappointed!

And please don't forget, and this is key, that you get a HUGE boost in graphical performance if you use an HDMI cable. It brings out the high definition qualities of the games. You will notice a difference right away. You don't really need to buy it though--you can always use the 5 prong (5 color set of cables too). It's up to you, but I'd really go for the HDMI cables. Get cheap HDMI cables here that will really help to answer the question: Is Playstation 3 worth the money and is it top-notch for electronic gifts for 2009?...but of course it is!

Lastly, the finest quality graphics can be seen on a 1080p television. I was lucky, because my friend owns one. I have a 740p television, which isn't really up to par. Great deals for 1080p televisions can be found here. Of course, this is the most expensive component to having a great gaming experience, but check it out if you want. If you don't, you will still have fun, because the Playstation 3 is definitely worth the investment! Have fun!!!
