R4 Dsi - the second upgrade to the hugely popular Nintendo DS console finally hit the market in the UK on April 3, 2009. British people warmly welcomed this Nintendo third iteration of the Ds platform. In the very opening week R4 Dsi surpassed the opening weekend sales of the original Ds as well as the Nintendo Ds Lite. When others are switching to the new SDi, you may not be able to wonder what you should do. Here follows some interesting information for the R4 Dsi lovers. After you read it, you yourself will decide whether you will still continue using the old DS or switch to R4 Dsi.

R4 Dsi is the third incarnation of the popular Nintendo series. The first Nintendo Ds was launched in 2004 and the DS Lite, the successor of R4 Dsi was launching in 2006. The R4 Dsi has a number of technical improvements over its predecessor the DS Lite. It has comparatively larger, bright screens, an Secure Digital card slot and two motion-sense cameras. R4 Dsi is also thinner than the previous version of the console; the DS Lite. The R4 Dsi has also an audio player and recorder, Wi-Fi and a dedicated memory slot, and an improved ergonomics and design. These features of R4 Dsi are simply great. It is said that the greatest weakness of the Nintendo Ds was the absence of an Secure Digital slot, but now with the R4 Dsi, you can download games, pictures, store music and movies, and do a whole lot more compared to the Ds.

The two cameras of the R4 Dsi are VGA. It is able to take a great quality of picture, and is good enough if you are going to do chat or video conferencing. It has many crazy and fun settings for your pictures. The audio player of R4 Dsi also has great settings. You can enjoy music by changing the pitch and speed, and inserting effects to recordings like echoes, instrumental only, an 8-bit tunes. The R4 Dsi has a dual 3.25 inch LCD screens whereas the Ds Lite had the 3 inch screens.

The PSP is the ultimate in handheld gaming platforms. The following is about the PS3, one of many electronic gifts for 2009. With so many choices out there today, you've got to ask yourself whether or not a Playstation 3 is worth the money. Well is it?

To tell you the truth, I was really questioning how any game system could be worth $400, especially in the middle of a national depression. I was fortunate to be able to go halves with a friend, which only set me back $200 instead of $400. At first, I only got a few games, like Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Infamous. Slowly, but surely, my collection has increased, and for good reason. But after shelling out close to $60 per game, I still ask the question, is playstation 3 worth the money and is it great for electronic gifts for 2009? Well, the short answer for me is YES!

I quickly noticed how clear the game graphics were. The transitions were smooth, and at times, it was hard to know if I was watching a cut scene or whether it was time for me to control my game character. I am simply amazed! Sometimes I swear it feels like I'm smack dab in the middle of a movie.

Which brings me to another key feature of the Playstation 3: the Blu Ray capabilities! It's so nice to have an all-in-one machine like the playstation 3. Is the Playstation 3 worth the money? You bet it is!

If you can't afford it yet, don't worry. It will eventually decrease in price. Or you can always go halves with a trusted friend like I did. You won't be disappointed!

And please don't forget, and this is key, that you get a HUGE boost in graphical performance if you use an HDMI cable. It brings out the high definition qualities of the games. You will notice a difference right away. You don't really need to buy it though--you can always use the 5 prong (5 color set of cables too). It's up to you, but I'd really go for the HDMI cables. Get cheap HDMI cables here that will really help to answer the question: Is Playstation 3 worth the money and is it top-notch for electronic gifts for 2009?...but of course it is!

Lastly, the finest quality graphics can be seen on a 1080p television. I was lucky, because my friend owns one. I have a 740p television, which isn't really up to par. Great deals for 1080p televisions can be found here. Of course, this is the most expensive component to having a great gaming experience, but check it out if you want. If you don't, you will still have fun, because the Playstation 3 is definitely worth the investment! Have fun!!!
